About School Council
The Leslieville Junior Public School Council is a group of elected parents and caregivers, school staff, and community members who work together to enhance the educational experience for all students. We focus on building community, supporting school priorities, and ensuring that families have a voice in the life of the school.

Beyond elected positions, there are many ways to get involved without running for a formal role! Committees are open to all parents and caregivers and offer flexible, interest-based opportunities to contribute to the school community.

Who’s on Council?

- Elected Parent/Caregiver Positions (5 total):
These roles are filled through a school-wide election at the beginning of each school year.- Co-Chairs (2 positions): Lead the council, set meeting agendas, and represent the parent voice.
- Treasurer: Manages the council budget and financial reporting.
- Secretary: Records meeting minutes and maintains council documentation.
- Additional Role: A flexible elected role to help lead a priority area such as fundraising, communications, or equity.

- Fundraising: Helping with campaigns, securing sponsorships, or leading the silent auction
- Eco & Garden: Supporting garden maintenance or curriculum connections
- School Improvement: Working on special projects that enhance the school environment
- Class Representatives: Serving as a Class Parent to help with teacher communications and classroom needs (12 positions)
