Leslieville’s New Playground – We Did It!
Look What We Built Together
The Leslieville playground revitalization is a story about what can happen when a community comes together around a shared goal.
With support from the Toronto District School Board, more than 80 families and community members, local businesses and corporate partners contributed time, ideas and funds to help transform our aging playground into a new space for the next generation of Leslieville students. The project fundraising and design began in September 2024 and construction concluded in August 2026.
From an Idea to Reality
Our old play structure had served Leslieville students for nearly 30 years. When it was time for something new, students, families and staff helped imagine what our schoolyard could become. What started as drawings, conversations and fundraising became a playground designed for movement, imagination, connection and play.
Built Together
Our children may never know every meeting, donation, volunteer hour or conversation that went into this project. They will simply know that someone cared enough to build something wonderful for them.
That is what community can do.
