Leslieville’s New Playground – We Did It!
Thank you to the truly incredible Leslieville community, families and corporate sponsors who helped us raise $50,000 by December 31, 2024 to make our dream playground a reality!
This project would not have been possible without the dedication of our families, caregivers, local businesses, and community partners. Every donation—big or small—helped us reach our goal and bring this exciting vision to life.
The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is making a significant investment and managing the construction, with updates on timelines expected as part of the planning process for the 2025–2026 school year. We’ll continue to keep the school community informed as we learn more.
Thank you for helping us build a brighter, more playful future for our students! This is a special once in a generation opportunity to enhance student outdoor play and learning.
Thank you to our incredible parents, caregivers, community members, and local businesses for your support. With your help, we’re creating a new playground that will be a fun, inclusive space where all children can play, grow, and build lasting memories.
Your generosity is truly making a meaningful impact!

Why Our Playground Needs Revitalization
The existing play structure has served our school community for almost 30 years, but it no longer meets the diverse needs of our students. While it offers some traditional features like a slide and climbing bars, the equipment lacks the versatility and creative engagement that modern playgrounds provide. The limited range of play options focuses heavily on physical activities without much room for imaginative, multi-use, or nature-inspired play.
The current layout is not inclusive for children with varying abilities, and it doesn't align with the latest research on child development, which emphasizes the importance of open-ended, sensory-rich play. As our school strives to create a space where every child can thrive, we need a playground that fosters social, cognitive, and physical growth for all students.
