We welcome everyone to our Council. We meet once a month (on the third Tuesday) to discuss important matters affecting our school and plan our responsive actions, whether it’s advocacy or events. We even have childcare and pizza to make the dinner hour less daunting. At our meetings you will:
• Learn about issues such as budgets, staffing, curriculum, EQAO student testing, special events, initiatives and fundraising. • Play an important role in the flow of information between the School Board and the school community. • Influence and make decisions that affect our students and the programs in our schools. • Become a bigger part of the Leslieville family and get a behind-the-scenes look at our school and the Board.
How you can get involved
An election for formal positions on the Council - Chair(s), Treasurer and Secretary - is done at our first meeting.
Volunteer: Whether it's regularly (consider heading up a sub committee), or even at just one event, your help is valued and needed. It’s all thanks to volunteers like you that we can continue to provide fun and successful initiatives for our children. Interested in helping? Come out to a meeting and let us know how you want to get involved. Or contact us directly here.
Attend School Council meetings: Everyone is welcome to attend, whether at one meeting or all of them. We know it's not always possible to attend, so follow us on Twitter, Facebook to keep up with what's happening and read the meeting minutes found here.
Come out to events: Attend the events held at Leslieville throughout the year. Check our Facebook, Twitter and the Events Page for updates and more information.
Participate in our Fundraisers: See the Support Our School page for my details.
